Ian Burridge

New Forest National Park Authority

Senior Planning Assistant

Ian Burridge is the Senior Planning Assistant at the New Forest National Park Authority in Hampshire.

Starting as a Planning Assistant in late 2019, Ian came from an administrative background but was new to the world of planning. Quickly adapting and with a strong eye for detail, he has helped oversee the transition to increased electronic working during Covid lockdowns and the move to new planning software in 2022.

He now manages a small team of staff validating planning applications, handling enquiries and dealing with various administrative functions within the Authority, working closely with other teams such as Trees, Enforcement and Ecology.

Recently Ian has been involved with forming the New Forest National Park Authority’s approach to the relatively new Biodiversity Net Gain regulations and is currently overseeing the potential changes to how they handle Land Charges as HM Land Registry implement the Local Land Charges Programme.
